Day 23 -24
Peter walking on water. This miraculous , assuredly life changing event, was captured differently depending on which gospel you read. On one hand, the notion of simply alternative perspectives is an obvious answer to the difference in tale. Yet when we peel back the initial simple answer, we see that how each gospel is informed is likely more of the real reason for the distinction in tales.
It has long been said that Peter primarily informed, if not authored most of Mark’s gospel. Peter as the primary source for Mark’s version
“And Peter answered him, Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water. He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me.”
Both Mark 6 and John make no mention of Peter walking on the water.
