The Seed & The Soul | Not I, A Gardener?

Ahh…the moment you have that one great idea. I should start a garden, on my patio. My 8 x 10 back patio in Maryland, that is. I’m sure we’ve all had those moments when a “great” idea kept coming to you and appeared a lot less complex in theory, than in the actual execution.

Well, I did it. Finally started a garden. Began thinking about it last year in 2018 and realized I had missed the season. Think about that. You can have a great idea and yet it not be the right time. The right season.

To start, I am a city girl–to the core. I mean, tried and true, “you can take the girl out of the city, but you can’t take the city out of the girl” city girl . Born and raised in Chicago. IN actual Chicago. And for anyone from Chicago or knows anyone from Chicago –THAT distinction matters. From the actual city, where cement and concrete was our garden.

That’s the block I grew up on. See? Some grass, lots of fences and no gardens.

I believe God uses nature and everything around us to teach. The practical = SEED. The intangible and spiritual = SOUL.

I invite you to join this city girl –as I attempt to garden; and attempt to make sense of all the lessons the SEED and the SOUL have to teach.
