Today, God showed me pockets of sunshine, which I prayed for. My trip to Walmart was a much better experience than yesterday’s. I traveled down beautiful highways, free of the congestion I was used to back at home.
I met nice people. Ate at a popular place called Rendezvous (the food was great!). Saw Graceland and added my initials to the wall. And got invited to a family BBQ on Memorial Day.
I’m staying at a hotel tonight with Tanya. We sat outside on the balcony and had a glass of wine while we talked. The weather was beautiful! She said she felt like she was on vacation. I agreed.
It does feel like I’m on vacation, but because I’m not leaving anytime soon, I’m going to call this an extended vacation, a 4-year vacation to be exact.
I want to enjoy my days. I want to experience more pockets of sunshine. I want to pull my hair back and put my feet up and enjoy a glass of wine, or a cup of coffee. Not just for the weekend, but for the next 4 years.
